The Llanishen Footpaths Group have been very busy this year
The Llanishen footpaths group has had a busy year spending 255 hours clearing, repairing and surveying footpaths in the village and surrounding countryside.
Working Days On our monthly working days we have: installed 11 waymark finger posts; repaired or replaced 7 stiles; installed 2 metal gates; replaced 2 bridges, and repaired one, alongside installing numerous waymark arrows, cutting back and strimming vegetation and removing fallen branches to keep the paths clear and usable.
Christmas Ramble 13th December 2025 13.30 from the village hall - please join us on a dog friendly circular route from the village to The Star on the Hill avoiding roads. This route is now accessible and way marked and is the 4th walk in our series of village walks. A map and directions can be found in the attachment. We plan to have refreshments at The Star before we walk back.
Circular walk to Trellech We have almost finished clearing a circular route from the village to Trellech and are working on a leaflet with the map and directions for it.
Volunteer Award The work of the group was recognised when we were runners up in the Best New Group Category at the Monmouthshire Volunteer Awards Ceremony in October.
